Divest Your Money From the Banks that Fund Fossil Fuel
For many of us the money we spend reflects our personal values. We will boycott a place of business for their anti-human rights policies. If we think a business may be mistreating animals we won’t purchase their products. Boycotts and public shaming work. Divesting funds from a financial institution that supports bad business practices is a form of boycotting…read more
Donate Gear & Supplies to Directly Support the Water Protectors
Camps A Rising accepts both new and used gear that’s in good shape. Our list of Water Protector needs includes items for safety, cooking, and camping along with tools and other gear needed to sustain the camps. And we will deliver it.
Camps A Rising has a network of volunteers serving as supply Drop Off Sites. You simply drop off your donated gear and supplies at a local site. The gear is picked up and moved to supply depots. Items are inventoried and added to an on-line spreadsheet. The Water Protector camp leaders can then see the inventory and request specific items they will use. There is no accumulation or waste of unneeded gear and supplies.
Volunteers then truck the gear to the camps. Your monetary or gas card donations and checks help pay for the transportation costs.
Right now is the best time to do this. Climate change is not slowing down. You can help Camps A Rising in supporting a future for all of us.
Set up a Local Camps A Rising Chapter
Maybe we all can’t go to a Water Protector camp and peacefully witness the fossil fuel pipeline network, but many will go and stand the watch for us. There is a way we can stand with them by organizing and contributing our skills… networking from within our own communities.
Camps A Rising will work with you to set up your own local Camps A Rising in support of a Water Protection Camp of your choosing. Camps A Rising will:
- Consult with you on the concepts of the organization.
- Guide you with resources in determining which or how many camps you would like to be able to supply.
- Offer you coaching on developing your own local team of volunteers.
- Work with you on factoring the number of Drop Off sites you may need to support your local goals.
- Share materials with you that will assist in setting up a local chapter.
- Connect you to other national organizations with similar goals.
